Astro Chess® is now a registered European Union trade mark.
On 22 August 2026, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) registered the ASTRO CHESS trade mark under registration number 019328474.
The registration represents an important milestone in the development of the Astro Chess project and gives its name a legally protected identity at European Union level.
What is Astro Chess?
Astro Chess is a research and development concept combining astrology, chess, coaching, and statistical and mathematical data analysis.
Its long-term objective is to investigate whether parameters derived from an individual’s birth data can provide additional information for understanding chess potential, player development and individual developmental profiles.
The practical side of the concept is primarily intended for chess players, coaches and parents of young players. It is not designed to replace chess expertise, training or professional coaching judgement, but to investigate whether an additional source of information can contribute to a more individualized approach to player development.
Astro Chess also includes research into time-dependent dynamics through the Astro Chess Biorhythm, based on astrological transit aspects and the study of how potential influences may change over time.
From a concept to a research project
During its development, Astro Chess has gradually evolved from an initial coaching concept into a structured research project.
An important part of the current work involves the development of mathematical models and their statistical evaluation. The next major step is testing these models on new, independent data through external validation.
The registration of the trade mark should therefore be understood primarily as a legal and developmental milestone. It does not in itself constitute scientific validation of the Astro Chess methodology. Scientific validity depends on research results, statistical testing and independent validation.
A protected identity for further development
With the registration of the trade mark, Astro Chess now also has an officially protected identity within the European Union.
This provides a more stable foundation for the continued development of research, educational content, coaching, publications and future practical tools associated with the project.
